Privacy policy
Last updated: 19 March 2026
This policy describes how the Midland Artist Resource (“we”, “us”) operates associationofmidlandartists.org.uk. We are an independent heritage and education site (see footer). We collect the minimum data necessary to run the service.
Who is responsible?
For UK data protection law, the controller is the operator named on our contact page. Privacy-specific messages may be sent to privacy@associationofmidlandartists.org.uk as listed there.
What personal data we process
- Server logs — your host may record IP address, browser type, timestamps, and requested URLs for security and troubleshooting.
- Email you send us — we process your address and message to reply. See contact.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type). GA uses cookies and similar storage as described in Google’s documentation.
- Cookies & local storage — set by GA4 and possibly your browser when loading third-party assets. See below.
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
This site loads Google’s gtag.js with measurement ID G-D27DCP57T0. Google processes data about your use of the site in line with our analytics configuration and Google’s Privacy Policy. You can restrict cookies and similar storage through your browser settings; see also Google Analytics data privacy and security. IP anonymisation, retention, and regional options should be set in your GA4 property to match your compliance needs.
Lawful bases (UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests — operating and securing the website, measuring aggregate site usage via GA4, understanding technical issues, and responding to enquiries.
- Consent — where required for specific cookies or marketing technologies; we will update this policy and the site before relying on consent for new tags.
- Legal obligation — if required by law or competent authority.
Google Fonts
Pages load fonts from Google Fonts; Google may process technical data (such as IP address) as part of that request. See Google’s privacy statement for how they handle such data.
Editorial mentions of retailers
Our guides name retailers and manufacturers for editorial comparison. Mention does not imply endorsement, partnership, or paid placement unless explicitly stated on the relevant page at the time you read it.
Retention
Server logs: as determined by your hosting provider’s policy. Email: kept only as long as needed to complete the conversation and any related legal or administrative record.
Your rights
Depending on circumstances, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and port personal data. You may complain to the ICO; we encourage you to contact us first.
Changes
We will update this page for material changes and revise the “last updated” date. Google Analytics was documented on this page on 19 March 2026.
